Mark Boneschanscher

Mark Boneschanscher

Managing director of the Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems

Dr. Mark Boneschanscher received his PhD in 2014 from Utrecht University on a study of the physical and chemical properties of nanocrystalline honeycomb materials. He worked as a program officer at the Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter (FOM). Here, he coordinated various research funding instruments and evaluation panels, acted as institute liaison for the energy research institute DIFFER, and set up a successful lobby for new funds for the general and technical sciences (sector plans). During the transition of the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) he was involved in setting up the new Institute Organization (NWO-I) in which he became coordinator of the institute liaisons. In 2019 he was asked to set up the Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems (EIRES), of which he became the managing director at the launch in 2020.

Lior Bonfis

President of Philips Israel & Head of Global Manufacturing Systems

Lior Bonfis is the President of Philips Israel and the Head of Philips Global Manufacturing Systems. With 20 years of experience in the industry, he leads large multinational, high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.

A long career in diverse industry roles led Lior to his current role. He started his career, as a quality engineering leader at Surf, a young Israeli start-up company. From there, he joined GE Healthcare in Israel, where he held various positions and gained experience in product industrialization, R&D, plant management, and M&A. Then Lior moved to Enercon Technologies, a private owned aerospace and defence company as VP of Global Operations.

In 2014 Lior started his career at Philips leading the advanced operations of the Computerized Tomography business in Haifa. In 2018, he was appointed as a Global Operations Leader of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging business and relocated with his family to the Netherlands. Since then, he has assumed other roles of increasing responsibility, such as Head of Global Industrialization and Order to Fulfilment Leader of Magnetic Resonance, Diagnostic X-ray, and OEM businesses. Before his promotion to his current role, Lior was VP and Head of Global Manufacturing Systems. Lior holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), a Master of Business Administration from Haifa University, and a Public Directors certification from the Interdisciplinary Center, Israel.

Architect of HEAVENN

Patrick Cnubben studied Chemical Engineering at the Hogere Technische School Heerlen and Chemistry at the University of Amsterdam and has been employed successively by Pré Consultants, Philips, Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Technology Center North Netherlands, Energy Valley Foundation/New Energy Coalition. Patrick is the initiator and founder (2022) of Hydrogen Architects is a specialised advisory on energy transition focussed predominantly on developing hydrogen ecosystems and Hydrogen Valley’s in Europe with special emphasis on the Central and South European/Mediterranean Arena. Hydrogen Architects is well connected in various international Hydrogen Valley, hydrogen networks and facilitates businesses from supporting, defining and designing novel hydrogen projects over the spectrum of innovation to investments in the national and international arena contributing to the goals of the EU Green Deal and related policy domains. Patrick also holds the position of Director strategy Hydrogen at New Energy Coalition, supporting green hydrogen initiatives. Here the focus is predominantly on the North Netherlands. Patrick is the architect of HEAVENN a game changing cross sectoral EU supported green Hydrogen value chain programme through which the North Netherlands have become the first Hydrogen Valley of Europe.

Professor of Ophthalmology at the Maastricht University Medical Centre+ and the MERLN Institute for Technology Inspired Regenerative Medicine, The Netherlands

Mor Dickman is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Maastricht University Medical Centre+ and the MERLN Institute for Technology Inspired Regenerative Medicine, The Netherlands. He specializes in the anterior segment of the eye, with expertise in corneal transplantation, ocular surface diseases, and complex lens pathologies.

His clinical research focuses on improving patient outcomes after corneal transplantation, cataract and refractive surgery. He specializes in population-based registry studies and multicenter randomized controlled trials. He co-chairs the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS) Registries, one of the largest IT projects in ophthalmology worldwide. His fundamental and translational research is in regenerative medicine with a focus on cell therapies to regenerate the cornea.

Ilan Englard

Ilan Englard

Applied Materials Israel

Mr. Ilan Englard is a European funding projects consultant and coordinator for the Israeli metrology cluster (Applied Materials (AMAT), KLA, NOVA and Bruker Israel). He has experience in the semiconductor industry as AMAT’s technologist at Micron technology and ASML (in the USA, Italy, and The Netherlands) and authored numerous papers in the metrology and lithography fields.

In addition, Ilan Englard provides European Funding Project Management and Consultancy Services (as IE PM&C company) to the ‘Electronic Components and Systems (ECS)’ value chain companies in Europe and its associated countries such Israel and Turkey. Examples of such projects are the MADEin4 (AMAT-Israel) and HICONNECTS (NXP-Germany).

Onno Huiskamp received his B.Sc. Management, Economics and Law at Avans University of Applied Sciences in 2011 and has a M.Sc. in public management from TIAS business school.

After his studies he worked for an M&A boutique in the Netherlands specializing in tech and family transactions. Transferring to the regional development agency in Noord-Brabant 2013 he was made responsible for high tech in the strategic acquisitions program at the Foreign Direct Investments department, working mainly with high tech companies from Japan, Taiwan and Israel. In 2016 he was transferred to the provincial government to develop the international program, with a focus on high tech hubs in Tel Aviv, SF and Tokyo. During this time, he worked with the Technical University Eindhoven to set up the roadmap for Integrated Photonics, WTMF. In addition, the Brabant Innovation Days, yearly partnership events in Tel Aviv, Tokyo and SF for Brabant based research institutes in flexible electronics, thin film solar, 3D printing and Photonics were set up. Nowadays, Onno is responsible for industrial policy as manager strategic partnerships at TNO, the applied research organisation in the Netherlands. Based in the heart of the high-tech industry in the Netherlands his focus areas are next gen electronics, photonics, medical technology and European collaboration with strategic autonomy in mind.

Dr. Amit Mor

Dr. Amit Mor

Eco Energy Financial & Strategic Consulting

Dr. Amit Mor, an energy economist, energy strategist, and financial analyst, is the CEO of Eco Energy Financial & Strategic Consulting. He earned his Ph.D. in Energy & Environmental Economics at Penn State University (1997). He studied Economics, Finance and Psychology at the Hebrew University. Dr. Mor served as a consultant to governments, financial organizations, public and private companies. During the past 20 years he worked intensively on issues concerning the development of the East MED energy and natural gas sectors and led the team that prepared the Energy Master Plan for the State of Israel and participated in the World Bank team that prepared the Energy Master Plan for the Palestinian Authority. He is also serving as a Senior Lecturer at the Reichman University and teaches courses on Middle East energy economics, geopolitics, Strategy and Security. He is also serving as a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Policy & Strategy (IPS) at the Reichman University.

Prof. Oded Raz

Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering

Dr. Oded Raz has received his B.Sc in Electrical Engineering at the Technion, Israel in 1993 and his M.Sc and PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2002 and 2008 from the Tel Aviv University. He has held several position in Israeli high-tech sector as R&D engineer (Chromatis Networks, Corrigent networks) before moving to the Netherlands. he has been a member of the scientific research team in the faculty of Electrical Engineering since 2006 where he is now the chairman of the Electro-Optical Communications group in the department. Dr. Raz has >20 years experience in the photonic and optical communications industry and has strong connections with industry both in the Netherlands and in Israel. He has recently joined the PhotonDelta organization to act as a scientific program manager to help lead the activities in the newly acquired 1.1B euro growth fund investment into integrated photonics in the NL.

Haim Rousso

Co-chairman of Photonics Israel

Haim Rousso is a co-chairman of Photonics Israel -the association of Photonics companies in Israel. He also leads the Forum of VP R&Ds in the Israel industry. Both organizations are operated under the umbrella of AEAI - Association of Engineers and Architects in Israel. Mr. Rousso is a member in the Board of Stakeholders of Photonics 21.

Before that, Mr. Rousso spent 40 years at the technology - based industry, as the CEO of EL-OP ,a world wide leader in the electro-optics field, and as Executive VP at Elbit Systems.

He served for 8 years as a member at the National Council for R&D and 3 years as a member of the council of IIA -Israeli Innovation Authority.

Dr. Ashok Sridhar

Dr. Ashok Sridhar

Business Development of TNO Holst Centre’s

Dr. Ashok Sridhar is the CEO of TracXon B.V., a foundry for printed electronics. Additionally, he works as a Senior Business Development Manager at Holst Centre in the Netherlands.

Since 2006, Ashok has worked in various technical as well as commercial roles in the field of printed electronics and 3D printing at different organizations. In 2019, he setup the first full-fledged printed electronics manufacturing facility in India, and in 2022, he co-founded TracXon B.V. as a spin-off from Holst Centre.

Ashok has an Executive MBA with honors from the TIAS School for Business and Society (the Netherlands) and a PhD in printed electronics from the University of Twente (the Netherlands). He has (co-)authored several refereed publications and has delivered talks at dozens of conferences around the world.
